Our Mission: Read More...
The mission of Harmony Elementary School is to facilitate a safe and orderly environment where excellence in learning provides all children the ability to think, learn, and lead.
Harmony Elementary School was opened in 2006, which makes it the newest school in Pickens County, Georgia. It is located in a small rural community. Due to county redistricting, the school population was reduced by approximately 100 students this year.
Harmony currently serves approximately 600 pre-k through 5th-grade students. Fifty-three percent of the students are male and forty-seven percent of the students are female. Harmony's special education subgroup comprises eighteen percent of the population. Sixty percent of the students at Harmony qualify as economically disadvantaged, qualifying HES as a Title One School.
The staff of Harmony Elementary School is composed of a principal, assistant principal, counselor, media specialist, gifted coordinator and part-time learning support specialist. There are forty-one full-time teachers at HES with ten providing special education services. The school also has fifteen paraprofessionals who serve special education and kindergarten students.
